A Picnic
On 1st January in This Year We Went For a Picnic. Kalyani Picnic Garden Was Our Picnic Spot. I Went There With My Parents and Other Members of Our Family. Some Other Families in Our Locality also Joined Us. We Started Early in The Morning. We Went There By Car. It Was a Beautiful Spot Beside The Ganges. Many Picnic Parties also Went There. We Spent The Time Joyfully. We Played Cricket and Badminton. Some Lay Idle on The Lawn and Listened to Music. We also Ate Boiled Rice & Chicken Curry A Lot. In The Afternoon We Enjoyed Boating on The River. We also Enjoyed The Glorious Sunset. Then We Returned Home With a Very Happy Mind.
Durga Puja
Durga Puja is a Famous Hindu Festival. It is Held in The Season of Autumn. Goddess Durga and Her Four Children Kartikeya, Ganesha, Lakshmi and Saraswati are Now Worshipped. Goddess Durga is The Symbol of Power. She Has Ten Weapons in Her Ten Hands. She is in The Mood and Posture of Killing The Demon. Bengali People Enjoy The Four Days of The Festival Very Much. They Wear New Clothes and Eat Nice Foods. The Puja Pandals are Nicely Decorated With Flowers and Lights. It is a Great Festival For Children also. We all Feel Sad When The Festival Ends.
Muharram
Muharram is a Great Festival of Muslims. This Festival is Observed to Remember Hassan and Hussain. They Were The Two Grandsons of Hazarat Muhammed. They Were Killed By Ejid Very Cruelly in Karbala Ground. The Muslims Observe The Festival in Memory of Their Death. In This Festival Colourful Processions are Taken Out. There are Tazias in The Processions. During The Processions, People Cry Out, "Hassan! Hussain!" On The Eleventh Day, The Tazias are Immersed. At Last, People Join a Feast.
Saraswati Puja
Saraswati Puja is The Greatest Festival of Students. It is also Called or Known as Vasant ( Basant ) Panchami in All Over India. In This Festival, We Worship The Goddess of Learning. Students Enjoy The Festival Very Much. It is Their Own Festival. On This Occasion Pandals are Nicely Decorated With Flowers. Students Offer 'Puspanjali' ( Flower Tributes ) The Goddess in The Morning. They Pray to The Goddess For Knowledge. In Some Places, Cultural Programmes are Held. Students Participate in These Programmes. They Sing, Dance, Recite and Present Stage Dramas. Thus They Enjoy The Festival. Another Interesting Part is 'Dadhikarma'. The Devi is Immersed The Next Day.
Diwali
Diwali is The Festival of Lights. It is also Called Deepavali. It is Held in Autumn. During This Festival, People Decorate Their Houses With Lights. Houses Look Very Nice. The Evening on This Day Looks Like a Morning. Diwali Festival Has It's Meaning. The Light Means Good. It Defeats Darkness. Darkness Means Bad. So Diwali Means The Win of Good Over Bad. It is a Very Popular Festival of Our Country. In Bengal Kalipuja is Observed on This Day. People also Worship Goddess of Wealth, Lakshmi. Children Like This Festival Very Much. They Burn Many Fireworks and Crackers.
Christmas
Christmas is The Greatest Festival of Christians. It is Held on 25th December Every Year. It is Held to Celebrate The Birthday of Jesus Christ. He Was Born on This Particular Day. Christians Celebrate The Day in Many Ways. The Festival Goes on For a Week. Churches and Houses are Nicely Decorated With Lights and Flowers. Christians Sing Carols. They Go to Churches For Special Prayers. Christmas Trees are Made. Family Meetings are Held Around This Tree. They Worship Jesus on The Day. People of Other Religions also Join This Festival. Thus Christmas is a Festival of All.
